Dave Matthews Band: The quintessential jam band of the past two decades, the Dave Matthews Band, revolutionized mainstream music with a unique, laid-back style and similarly laid-back tour dates. 2011 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Dave Matthews Band and, while the group has vowed not to play tour dates in 2011, they have produced mini-music festivals this summer that are bound to please fans more than an average tour date.

In 1990, Dave Matthews reluctantly formed a band utilizing some of the most talented musicians in the Charlottesville area of Virginia. Initially playing tour dates at small local clubs, college students were responsible for the success of early albums like, Remember Two Things, and Under the Table and Dreaming. Crash became a breakout success for the Dave Matthews Band in 1996, featuring the hit singles "Crash into Me" and "So Much to Say." The album has gone platinum seven times and was followed by higher profile tour dates than the band was used to. 2001's Everyday also did well with the singles "I Did It", "The Space Between", and the album's title track becoming hits.

Dave Matthews Band's latest album, 2009's Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King was nominated for two Grammys and received widespread acclaim from critics. The Dave Matthews Band Caravan has also received acclaim from critics, and the two remaining tour dates in 2011 contain all-star lineups that can't be missed. The next festival date is on the weekend of August 28 on Governor's Island in New York, followed by an appearance at The Gorge in George, WA on the weekend of September 2. Don't miss Dave Matthews Band on their 20th Anniversary tour dates in 2011 at these monumental music festivals.

The Head and the Heart: Composed primarily of transplants to the Seattle area, The Head and the Heart write and play songs that speak to the newness of a fresh start, of the ghosts left behind, of moving forward, all brimming with a soulfulness and hope for a better life than the one we've all been sold.

Stylistically, think a folksy Beatles or Crosby Stills Nash & Young with more oomph. Catchy piano melodies stand side by side with a tight trio of harmonies, and solid minimalist drums, groovin bass, and plenty of hand percussion and foot stomps make the live show inspiring and really goddamn fun.

The band's first album will be self-released at the end of June 2010.
